Hi Bert!
Hope you are having a fun day and lots of good cheer!  I'd love to invite you over for tea and cake, but even crossing the Oval is a bit far, never mind the Atlantic!  (can you walk on water? :-) )  But the main thing is, Sister says I have to stay in bed, anyway, because I have the 'flu.
Many happy returns!

Thanks Di. I'm having trouble staying in bed, but doctor's orders!  So Cyril has been ministering with tea, a laptop and my phone before leaving for his work this morning.  How's that for treatment!  :-)  We have snow on the ground, and a wind chill sending temps into the sub-zeros.  I was never very good at winter!  Stay well, one and all and Bert, live it up for your new year! :-)  Oh, yes, as Roy suggests, of course I'm issuing a rain check on that tea and cake invitation!
Shelagh  :-)

Happy Birthday Bertie B, sorry that it's a little late.   Roy, I liked your word, Dormant, thats what we are lately, asleep for the winter. I have been waiting for Di to make an announcement but it hasn't come yet, SO, Our lovely Di became a Great Grandma for the fourth time earlier this month !, Jessica Anne has arrived.
I thought it would be all right in this category instead of New Arrivals, it was a birthday after all. Congrats to all Di and tell Lewis my thoughts are withhim too.
Take care all

Is it spring yet?!?

Well, well, some stirring here!  Are we coming out of hibernation?  We still have lots of snow and sub-zero temps in Ohio, folks.  Some bears want to sleep a bit longer.  Yawn, stretch...greeting in grunts to you all.  Polar Vortex and all that. Sounds like the brand name of some heavy-duty winter sports line of clothing, doesn't it?    I bet that's what it is.  Wouldn't have anything to do with  mind-numbing winds, would it?
If you're seeing signs of spring over there in that scepter'd isle, please describe, so we who are in deepest winter can dream on.
( Good to see some life here again! :-)   )

Hi Di,
So you are a Great grandmother again and I bet you don't look a greatgrand child older. I congratulate you on your luck but please pass on my congratulations to those who did , and will have to continue to do the work. Late night feeds? I hope that they know that they will laugh about it one day.
warmest regards
GWE ( green with envy)

Hi Shelagh, sorry about your weather situation, here on Vancouver Island B.C. we see it on the telly and mummur things like, boy are they gettin' it. then we go outside in 12c and poke at the garden, straighten up an errant daffodil, you get my drift. In defense of Canada, the east coast is getting it like you two, 16' high drifts and all that. You will come out of this Shelagh, just stay indoors and drink lots ! He He, No that wasn't me, I wasnt laughing honest.
Stay well, take care

HI Malc!   THanks for your kind words.  The upside of all of this is that we're not in New York or Boston where they get it from the ocean AND the land!  We get some from the Great Lakes but I hear they are good and properly frozen over now.  Well, back to the cosy den for some more snoozing.  More anon, if spring ever does come...
:-)
