Hi Bertie,
I agree, it was a really great to meet up at Harpenden with friends from the days of yore and new ones. I was surprised at the number of people who were there that don't post on line but know those of us who do through those actions. I really think we must encourage all of them to take that first step back into the forum world. After all it was sheer perseverance that enabled you to get back and we are now the better for your company.

Thanks Bert!

Hi Bert,
Thanks for your brief report of the Harpenden reunion.  Cant wait to hear more and see some pics!  :-)
How I would have loved being there, but I've got to "pick my battles" as it were, regarding international travel!
I'm enjoying being retired, that's for sure!  And then off to Norway very soon.
Best,
Shelagh

Bertie,
Due to ill heath and business events, I will not be able to get to the Watford 2015.
For the 2015 Harpenden event, if there are any members that are able to lend a hand of offer suggestions as to what time of the year they would like an event to happen, and to lend a hand at publicity and day events it will be a great help.

Thanks,

Phili

Reunions of one sort and another...

HI Bert and Philip!
Nice to see a little bit of action on the forum!
No chance I can be in Watford on the Fourth of July--what?!  America's Independence Day--flags and fireworks?!!   Just kidding--that would not stop me...but I don't think I'll be travelling anywhere internationally this year.  One never knows, of course--things can change.  It would be so good to see you again Bert, and the next time we do meet up, we've gotta catch up on old times, eh?

Philip, I'm sorry to hear you're not well.  I hope things turn around for you, and that you get lots of help with a Harpenden reunion.  (So wish I could be there again, but...).  A trip to Harpenden is definitely going to be on my itinerary for my next trip to England, whenever that is.
Be well, one and all, and enjoy the signs of spring!  For us it's a matter of slightly warmer temps and slightly less snow and ice!
Let's all keep in touch, eh?  And for those who read here, but don't post anything--post something!  You'll live, just see...:-)

Re Highfield 2015 :- As far as the catering goes, my son James and his wife have offered to cover the providing and cooking as they did last year. Before we commit completely it is important for some guidance to be produced as to when it should take place, close to the Watford event or with a gap, until this is decided the event cant even be booked . Come on Harpos lets see the preferences.

Now now Shelagh,
That was a little below the belt. I will put it down to a understandable jealous chagrin that you will not be there to gaze upon the superb lithe torsos that have already indicated an intended attendance.

For superb lithe torsos

All right then, Six-pack Sid, use your arm muscles to raise a glass of merlot in your absent friend's honour, and all will be well!  :-)

Strawberries and cream

Now then Bert, are you sure your doctor would approve of strawberries and cream as advisable for a senior diet, especially if you're in the club of "superb lithe torsos" ?!  Oh, go on, enjoy yourself!    And please say hello to Shirley from me when you see her. I miss the contact we  had in the good old days of the old forum. :-)    Know you're invited for tea if you can make it to Ohio any time soon.   Granted that's a bit more than crossing the Oval,, but so what!   Shelagh
