On pages where photos stop part way through it is often down to size.
A. if the file of the picture is too big in 'k' size.
b. if the picture is fine in 'k' size but was too big in format size.

If the dimentions are too large in format size lafora will try to squeeze it onto the page, that is why with some pictures, they first start to load, then suddenly shrink.

Please keep trying to load pictures.
Often photos loaded directly that were taken from a digital camera, will be too big at first to fit into the lafora system. try to use a photo programme that will let you shrink the size down to around 100k - 200k, not the 1000k plus that most digital cameras offer, if there still seem to be problems loading fron that smaller flie size try changing the physical of the photo down to say 100mmx 200mm.

Just keep playing at some point the photos will load.

For the avatar image, it has to be really small 15k or so with a size of 20mm x 30mm

Roughly a passport size photo scanned at 100 dpi.

Some of those above Harpenden photos  show up as
500px × 375px (scaled to 480px × 360px)

They need to be sent as single uploads if they are this size as the total batch load file is too large.

Please send one photo, then wait for it to load then load the next in the white box at the bottom again.
then repeat for each photo.

This is one of the faults with a free system, but it does allow us better access with text than the two previous companies.

Thanks Philip,  I for one have been reducing but to the wrong size.

p.s. reducing pictures that is, the corporation could still do with some redundancies!

Until Lefora can manage to correct the photo problem.
Could members load photos direct onto the pages at around 25k to 70k in JPEG format

If a photo only seems to half load, to view it click on it so that it opens in a full window.

-----------------------------------------
It would also help if members did not give file attachment links to open in various forms.
Most members have computers that are up to date with virus software, but a few members might not, until the file has been clicked on, it is impossible to tell what it contains.

So direct photos only please.
standard www. links are fine if you know the site personally.

I'd be very happy to come and do your ceilings for you.  If there's something interesting & informative to listen to on radio 4 to keep my mind occupied whilst I'm working, ceilings are easy peasy so long as I remember which way round I am.

Indeed I do supply my own scaffolding Dave.  But for normal ceilings an ordinary step ladder is enough   ...........    I should have stayed in the UK Malcolm, and started my own little business.   I'd employ ladies of a certain age and have 'Decorum' painted on all my vans.  Assuming I got enough work.

Hi Jen , be very careful of the discrimination laws ,though I would not object to ladies only .but if you flouted the law I would too and wouldn't pay a MANS wage ,also what do you mean by certain age  not all ladies of your age are fit enough to go up scaffolds , or even step ladders.     Anyway good  night (or morning)  Love Malc S

Some guys are just too fussy.   If Decor 'em give the best qoute they get my work. Far be it for me to question what ladies of SWMBOi's age are capable of.     Jennifer  might have to fight to hear her Radio 4 though as Classic FM is the standard here!wink

I'm not greedy Malc. I would only expect to be paid the going rate for the job    ......    I like classic FM too Roy.  But I sometimes find that they play the most popular twiddly stuff over & over again until it  drives me bonkers.
oops !  Hope I havn't started a skirmish.

I'm sorry too Malc, that I can't make it to the reunion.  But I'm still counting down the days and will be thinking of you all having the most happy, sad and WONDERFUL time.  I'm looking forward to seeing all the photos, and shall tune in to 'Look North' at the appointed hour.
